Outdoor TV Lift Cabinet FAQ: Compatibility, Noise, Installation & More
Is my TV compatible?
IntelliCube outdoor TV lift cabinets are built for standard VESA-mount TVs and work with popular brands including Samsung, LG, Sony, Sylvox, TCL, and Vizio. Compatibility depends on your TV's exact width, height, depth, and VESA pattern fitting within the cabinet's opening — check the dimension spec on each product page (for example, the 65" model fits panels up to 57.87" W × 34.25" H × 3.94" D) before ordering. Note that the TV itself is not included with any cabinet.
Does the lift mechanism make a lot of noise?
The lift systems are built as smooth, quiet motorized mechanisms designed for everyday use around movie nights and gatherings, rather than an industrial-sounding motor. Exact noise levels aren't independently published, so if quiet operation next to a bedroom window or a small patio is a hard requirement, it's worth asking our team for a demo video before ordering.
What's the maximum TV size and weight each cabinet supports?
Maximum screen size is named in each model (55", 65", 75", and the Dual-Motion 75"/85"/100"/115" sizes). Exact weight capacity varies by model — check the spec sheet on the specific product page you're considering, or contact us with your TV's model number and we'll confirm fit before you order.
What's the difference between a standard lift and a Dual-Motion lift?
A standard lift raises the TV straight up out of a fixed cabinet. A Dual-Motion (split-design) lift raises the TV while the cabinet body lowers at the same time, which keeps large screens closer to eye level instead of pushing them up higher as size increases. See our full explanation of Dual-Motion technology for the mechanics and when it's worth choosing over a standard lift.
Can I control it wirelessly?
Yes. Cabinets are available in a Remote Control configuration from the start, and existing cabinets with the compatible vertical plug-in card control system can be upgraded using the Wireless Remote Control Upgrade Kit. Note that after installing the upgrade kit, the original built-in control panel may no longer function — operation moves to the included wireless remote.
What's "Clean Cable Setup" vs. the standard configuration?
Both use the same lift mechanism. "Clean Cable Setup + Control Panel" routes cables more neatly inside the cabinet for a tidier look; the standard "4 Outlets + Control Panel" configuration is the base build. Choose based on how much you care about hidden cable routing versus outlet access.
Do I need a professional to install it?
Cabinets ship with full installation hardware, and most customers self-install. For large-scale or Dual-Motion installations — particularly 100"+ screens or professional/hospitality projects — many customers choose to work with an AV integrator or installer, but it isn't required for standard sizes.
What is an "Open-Box / B-Grade" unit?
These are fully functional units with minor cosmetic imperfections only (not functional defects), sold at a discount while supplies last — see current Open-Box 65" and Open-Box 75" listings. Stock is limited and changes frequently.
How do I protect the cabinet from rain, sun, and winter weather?
The aluminum-frame cabinets are built for year-round outdoor exposure, with a rust-resistant frame and built-in drainage. For extra protection — daily use or seasonal storage — use the IntelliCube Protective Cover, sized specifically for the 55"/65"/75" cabinets. See our weatherproofing breakdown for what actually protects the unit.
Can I add a soundbar?
Yes — the IntelliCube Soundbar Mount is compatible with the 55", 65", and 75" standard cabinets.
Can I get a custom size?
Yes, a 60" Custom Split-Design Cabinet is available for non-standard requirements; note that custom units are non-refundable and non-returnable due to the nature of customization.
